Paketico ("we", "our", or "the company") operates the paketico.com platform and the Paketico mobile application. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our services.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Personal information: name, email address, phone number, shipping address in Cuba, and billing address.
  • Payment information: your credit or debit card details are processed directly by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
  • Usage information: IP address, device type, browser, pages visited, and time spent.
  • Cookies: we use cookies to manage sessions and improve your experience. See our Cookie Policy for more details.

2. How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

  • Process and manage your product orders and shipments to Cuba.
  • Process payments securely through Stripe.
  • Send you order confirmations, shipping updates, and important notifications by email.
  • Manage your user account.
  • Improve our services and user experience.
  • Comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.

3. Legal basis for processing

We process your personal information based on the following:

  • Contract performance: when necessary to fulfill an order you have placed.
  • Consent: when you have given explicit consent for a specific use.
  • Legitimate interest: to improve our services and prevent fraud.

4. Data sharing with third parties

We share your information only with the following service providers, who are required to protect your data:

  • Stripe: credit and debit card payment processing.
  • Supabase: user authentication and secure data storage.
  • Resend: transactional email delivery.
  • Vercel: web hosting and content delivery.
  • Shipping partners: information necessary for package delivery in Cuba.

5. International data transfers

Paketico is a company based in the state of Florida, United States. Your data is processed and stored on servers located in the United States. By using our services, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States.

To fulfill shipments to Cuba, we share the necessary delivery information (recipient name, address, and package description) with our logistics partners.

6. Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Transaction data is retained for the period required by applicable legal and tax obligations.

You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time — see the next section for step-by-step instructions.

7. Delete your account and data

You may delete your Paketico account and all associated personal data at any time, either directly in the app or by sending an email request.

How to delete your account from the app

  1. Open the Paketico app and sign in.
  2. Go to the "Account" tab in the bottom bar.
  3. Scroll to the "Danger zone" section at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap "Delete account".
  5. Review the list of data that gets deleted and the data that's kept.
  6. Type DELETE (in capital letters) in the confirmation field.
  7. Tap "Delete my account" to confirm.

In-app deletion is immediate and cannot be reversed.

How to delete your account by email

If you can't access the app, send an email to soporte@paketico.com from the address registered to your account, requesting account deletion. We process such requests within 30 days.

What data is deleted

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and address.
  • Your saved contacts (senders and recipients in Cuba).
  • Your notifications, support message history, and other user-generated content.
  • Your profile photo and saved preferences (language, theme, sounds).
  • Your saved payment methods are unlinked from Paketico. The full card data is held by Stripe and managed according to Stripe's retention policy.
  • Your authentication account and all associated identifiers.

What data is kept (anonymized) and why

To comply with legal, tax, and accounting requirements — in particular the approximately 7-year business-records retention period applicable to U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) obligations — we keep the following data in anonymized form, meaning without any information that could identify you personally:

  • Past order records (products purchased, shipments, and transport orders) with anonymized identifiers.
  • Financial records required for accounting and tax reporting.

Timeline

  • In-app deletion: immediate and irreversible.
  • Email requests: processed within 30 days.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: request the deletion of your personal data.
  • Portability: receive your data in a structured and readable format.

9. Security

We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Data encryption in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
  • PCI DSS-certified payment processing through Stripe.
  • Row-level security (RLS) policies in our database.
  • Restricted access to personal data for authorized personnel only.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through a notice on our platform or by email. We recommend reviewing this page regularly.
